Overview

CloudRay is seeking an experienced MIG/TIG Welder for a client near Decatur, AL. This position involves various welding operations to manufacture products according to customer specifications, offering a chance to work with a leading automotive manufacturer.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and follow routers.
• Perform wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and galvanized materials.
• Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
• Examine weld for bead size and specifications.
• Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures.
• Chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
• Operate grinders and DA sanders to clean up and smooth welds.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections using basic measuring tools.
• Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
• Update computer records and paperwork according to production requirements.
• Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on welders.
• Operate a forklift to move parts and finished products.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years in various forms of welding.
• Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Pipe welding experience.
• Aluminum welding experience.
• High School Diploma/GED or graduation from a certified technical school.
• Minimum of 2 years machine shop experience.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Strong work ethic, good attendance, and ability to follow instructions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work occasional overtime.
• Steel-toed boots required.
• Must pass background and drug screening.

Additional Information

• Shift: 1st & 2nd Shift – Monday–Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM or 1:30PM-10:00PM
• Job is commutable from Decatur, AL, Huntsville, and Athens (35611).
