Overview

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, where you will be responsible for Inconel-based TIG welding on fuel pumps and other large-scale castings for Blue Origin's BE-4 engines.

Responsibilities

  • TIG welding aerospace stainless steel and Inconel hardware using manual equipment.
  • Weld preparation including cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts.
  • Support/prepare parts for post-weld inspection processes such as dye penetrant, X-ray, and chemical treatments.
  • Design support and fabrication of tooling for welding and assembly.
  • Communicate with engineers on design concepts, offering suggestions for improvements.
  • Perform Strip Welding and Installation on Flight Hardware.
  • Review, edit, and follow Work Instructions for welding and assembly work.
  • Safely work within an industrial environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience with DC- and AC-TIG welding of metals including stainless steels, aluminum, and Inconel alloys.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools, and fabrication shop equipment.
  • Familiar with the use of personal computers.
