Overview

We're looking for innovative individuals to join nVent, a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions, as Welders on the Day Shift. This role involves advancing our success and ensuring a more secure world through inventive electrical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and collaborate with the Lead person to confirm job requirements.
• Gather necessary materials and perform layout work according to specifications.
• Set up welding machines and adjust settings for various applications.
• Weld steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials in multiple positions and joint configurations.
• Inspect welds for quality, repairing defective joints as needed.
• Operate cutting torches and manual plasma cutters when required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area by performing regular housekeeping duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least one year of welding experience.
• Able to read tape measures and blueprints.
• Ability to properly operate welding equipment.
• Must be trained in applicable SOPs and work instructions.
• Skilled in utilizing cutting torches, brushes, pads, buffers, grinders, overhead cranes, and rubber hammers.
• Ability to meet physical and environmental demands including standing/walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50lbs, and working in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Must wear the required PPE for the given position.
