Overview
The Welder II position involves supporting the Facility Manager by installing, repairing, and fabricating metal materials in a safe and efficient manner. The company manages over 1 billion square feet of facilities space, providing comprehensive facility services to leading organizations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain welds on various items and materials using a variety of processes.
- Repair metal surfaces for the purpose of ensuring safe and efficient use of items.
- Install various items (railings, fences, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects safely and within established time frames.
- Maintain shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
- Coordinate with on-site team and Customer for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
- Request equipment and supplies for the purpose of completing assigned projects.
- Assist other trades personnel as required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Respond to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Transport various items for the purpose of ensuring availability of materials required at job site.
- Available for weekend and non-shift work as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must have successfully completed formal welding training programs.
- 1-5 years' related experience is required.
- Must possess applicable welding certifications and licenses.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Additional Information
- Technician is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle mechanical equipment, and climb ladders.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds.
- Dynamic work environment including offices and manufacturing areas with exposure to dust and debris.
- Wearing of personal protective equipment is required while performing routine tasks.
