Overview

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is seeking a Rig Welder for a jobsite in Stanton, TX. OPD specializes in engineering and construction within the natural gas and petrochemical industries, providing a comprehensive range of services to enhance project efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own a portable welding rig including PPE.
• Understand required weld procedure for designated area.
• Weld pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
• Operate tools and equipment including angle grinders, beveling machines, and welding machines.
• Possess skilled knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, and welding equipment.
• Work with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of general welding experience.
• Pass code welding test: ASME Section IX 6G pipe test and AWS D1.1 plate test.
• Ability to produce welds that are 100% x-ray quality and visually acceptable.
• Own rig and all required equipment.
• Willingness to travel and work extended periods away from home.
• Ability to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week.
• Meet basic physical demands with or without accommodations.
• Attend mandatory safety meetings.

• Capable of working in outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Must be able to lift and carry awkward objects up to 60 lbs.
• Standing for extended periods of time up to 12 hours per day.
