Overview
The Welding Technician position on the 2nd shift involves welding fabrications and components as directed, with a strong emphasis on aluminum and steel welding techniques. Candidates should have prior experience and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Weld aluminum, steel, and stainless-steel components using bench and MIG techniques.
- Grind welds as necessary.
- Collaborate with other employees and work independently.
- Follow directions from supervisors and complete company-sponsored weld-training programs.
- Read blueprints and technical documents required for welding tasks.
- Set up and assemble various components for welding.
- Maintain a productive work ethic and minimize scrap or rework.
- Adhere to company safety rules and maintain clean work areas.
- Safely use proper tooling and equipment for job requirements.
- Continuously strive for improvement in job performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Commit to company-provided welding training.
- Willingness to cross-train as required by supervisors.
- Successfully complete a weld test prior to job offers.
- Ability to follow work orders with minimal errors.
- Read work orders and use measuring equipment.
- Possess mechanical skills and some computer skills.
- 6 months of similar experience or a Weld Program Certification from an accredited Trade School or Vocational Program preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
