Overview
The Welder position involves performing various welding tasks to manufacture products according to specifications and certification requirements. The role includes working with different materials and welding processes, troubleshooting, and participating in continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding tasks in the manufacture of products to conform with specifications and certification requirements.
- Weld production and prototype instrumentation piece parts in various materials including stainless steel and precious metals using TIG and/or MIG processes.
- Operate program welding machine to weld production units.
- Set up fixtures and lay out work for production and prototype piece parts.
- Troubleshoot problem welding areas.
- Train other welders and provide welding support as needed.
- Work with various internal departments to establish welding process parameters.
- Ensure welds pass destructive and non-destructive testing based on certification requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes.
- Recommend changes to and participate in the review of manufacturing procedures.
- Perform daily organization and cleanup of work area.
- Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions and incidents to supervision.
- Perform miscellaneous work as required.
Requirements
- Proficiency in welding processes, particularly TIG and MIG.
- Ability to work with various materials including stainless steel and precious metals.
- Experience in setting up fixtures and laying out work for production.
- Capability to troubleshoot welding issues.
- Willingness to train others and provide support.
Additional Information
- Temp to hire position.
- Pay rate is $20 - $24/hr.
- Work hours are 6am – 4pm with a 1 hour lunch Mon – Thurs and 6am to 10am on Friday.
- Welding test required: 1G open root on 3” sch. 80 316ss.
