Overview

Module X Solutions is a rapidly growing modular manufacturing business that designs, engineers, and manufactures products for various sectors including renewable energy and telecommunications. They are seeking a Welder Fitter Combo to join their team, which emphasizes employee support and community involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
  • Develop templates and models for welding projects using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information.
  • Position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
  • Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
  • Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using various welding processes.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, joining parts such as beams and steel reinforcing rods.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand scrapers or power chippers.
  • Clean or degrease parts using wire brushes and portable grinders or chemical baths.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of welding/fitting experience.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Attention to detail.
  • General mathematical skills.
  • General knowledge of construction techniques and standards.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to team members and/or customers.
  • Proficient understanding of engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Welding experience with modular buildings and solar power conversion skids.

Additional Information

  • Work hours are Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM.
  • Initial training will be conducted on day shift for approximately 1-2 weeks from 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
  • A $2.00/hour shift differential will be added to the base hourly rate upon transition to second shift.
