Overview
The Welder position in Midland involves performing welding tasks such as casting repair, finishing, inspection, material preparation, and equipment maintenance while adhering to safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Fill, blend, and repair defects, holes, or cracks using TIG or arc welding.
- Perform grinding, polishing, and sanding to remove excess weld.
- Inspect pre-existing welds to ensure integrity of parts.
- Prepare, cut, and bevel castings for welding using torches or saws.
- Utilize cranes and hoists for designated tasks.
- Monitor and maintain welding machinery and tools.
- Adhere to safety rules and maintain a clean work environment.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, vocational training preferred.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Proficiency in arc welding and TIG is necessary.
- Knowledge of grinding, sand/shot blasting, and finishing.
- AWS certification is highly regarded.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).
- Knowledge of welding practices and standards such as ASME & AWS.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools and welding consumable specs.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Must be willing to work flexible shifts.

- Work may involve exposure to harmful physical and chemical agents.
- Personal protective equipment is required.
- Physical ability to operate machinery for 8 to 12 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift, pull, or push up to 50 pounds.
