Overview

Nucor Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for the 2nd shift in Hartford, WI. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production tooling and equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency in a vibrant workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production tooling and equipment.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Diagnose problems, test, and make adjustments to various equipment.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
  • Monitor, maintain, and document preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on overhead cranes, scissors lifts, and forklifts.
  • Assist with building needs including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance.
  • Participate in special projects for the research and development department.
  • Facilitate orders of supplies and tooling.
  • Perform emergency fixes and repairs as needed.
  • Demonstrate safety policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Ability to work 2nd shift hours Monday - Thursday 3:00pm - 1:30am.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and scissors lifts.
  • Background in commercial or industrial electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, CNC, welding, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and present information effectively.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and define problems.

Additional Information

  • Willingness to train on 1st shift before switching to 2nd shift schedule.
  • Daytrips required 2 times a month to other facilities.
