Overview

Valmont is seeking a motivated Structural Welder to join their Global Utility Division. The role involves welding metal components to fabricate or repair products according to layouts and blueprints, contributing to the advancement of agricultural productivity and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural welding operations by fusing metal components using arc welding processes.
  • Interpret blueprints and written specifications to determine operation sequence.
  • Perform welding activities involving moderate safety and load requirements.
  • Move pole shafts and materials using an overhead crane.
  • Participate in department safety initiatives and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Learn and apply Valmont fitting processes within the first 6–12 months of employment.

Requirements

  • One month of previous hands-on welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication or professional environment.
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints including weld requirement symbology.
  • One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is preferred.

Additional Information

  • Available Shifts: 2nd - Monday to Thursday 5:00pm - 3:30am, 4th - Friday to Sunday 5:00am - 5:00pm.
  • Starting Pay: $26.24/hr with potential to reach $28.60/hr by 6-month anniversary.
  • $2.00/hr differential for night shift.
