Overview

Valmont is seeking a motivated individual for the Welder/SubArc Base Welder Helper position in Claremore, Oklahoma. The role involves welding metal components and supporting sub-arc welding operations while adhering to safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal structural components together using arc welding for the fabrication of steel electrical poles and substations.
• Perform welding operations with limited planning from blueprints or specifications.
• Weld objects with moderate safety and load requirements in a fixed position.
• Move pole shafts using an overhead crane and gather parts and materials for projects.
• Assist in sub-arc welding setup and operation while learning under supervision.
• Participate in department safety and demonstrate excellent safety practices.

Requirements

• One month of previous hands-on welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.
• Ability to learn and operate welding equipment, including sub-arc systems, with guidance.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints including weld requirement symbology is preferred.
• One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is preferred.

• Available Shifts: 2nd - Monday to Thursday 5:00pm - 3:30am, 4th - Friday to Sunday from 5:00am - 5:00pm, 5th - Friday to Sunday from 5:00pm - 5:00am.
