Overview

Valmont is seeking a highly motivated Welder for their Columbus facility to join a team dedicated to advancing agricultural productivity and infrastructure. The role involves welding metal components to fabricate or repair products, ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components together according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders.
• Work from blueprints and layouts to fit structural parts together.
• Lay out guidelines on metal parts and cut metal with a cutting torch.
• Adjust welding equipment to prescribed settings.
• Move pole shafts using an overhead crane and gather parts for projects.
• Utilize safety devices and wear mandatory personal protective equipment.
• Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management.
• Actively participate in department safety and demonstrate excellent safety practices.

Requirements

• Must have weld experience, preferably MIG welding.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Excel in a team environment.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate positively with coworkers.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
• Maintain an acceptable level of production, quality, and attendance.
