salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year shift: First work hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM education: High School

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections of welds before, during, and after fabrication processes.
  • Verify that all welding procedures and personnel conform strictly to AWS D1.1 and D1.5 codes.
  • Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder Performance Qualifications.
  • Conduct and document non-destructive testing (NDT) including magnetic particle and dye penetrant.
  • Monitor environmental conditions, preheat temperatures, and interpass temperatures during welding.
  • Identify weld defects, issue non-conformance reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to resolve quality control issues.
  • Maintain organized, detailed records of all daily inspections, tests, and code compliance logs.
