Overview
The Single Hand Pipe Welder is responsible for operating welding machines to join or connect various types of pipe and fittings in an oil and gas industry setting. Delta Constructors provides comprehensive construction, maintenance, and project management services across North America, specializing in both brownfield and greenfield projects.
Responsibilities
- Interprets isometric drawings and determines which specifications to apply.
- Operates hand and power tools common to welding such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc.
- Holds, clamps, heat-bends, tack-welds or bolts component parts.
- Ignites and installs torches and beveling machines within specifications.
- Welds using stainless steel, carbon steel and duplex materials.
- Maintains machines and inspects equipment to identify possible problems.
- Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, or Equivalent.
- Three (3) years single-hand pipe welding experience; industrial industry preferred.
- Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record required depending on location.
- Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to Pass ASME B31.3 - GTAW / SMAW 2’ SCH 160 6G Pipe Test.
- Ability to Pass 2” XXH, 6010/7018, SMAW & 6” SCH, 160 GTAW/FCAW, 6G pipe tests.

- Schedule: 4 weeks ON 2 weeks OFF
- 60 hours per week (opportunity for more)
- 36 weeks ON and 17 weeks OFF (22% MORE TIME OFF!)
