Overview

SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. The Welder position at the Starship Launch Pad involves various welding processes and collaboration to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Weld using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW processes on various materials.
• Cut, trim, fit and fabricate weldments to dimensions using standard tools.
• Collaborate with lead welder to assess proper weld procedures and materials.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations.
• Make continuous efforts to improve operations and streamline work processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of experience welding in a fabrication environment with FCAW or GTAW.
• 5+ years of professional experience in GTAW welding with SCH 10 stainless or carbon steel pipe.
• 5+ years of professional experience in FCAW welding with stainless or carbon steel.
• Previous welding qualifications in accordance with AWS or ASME codes.
• Highly proficient in tube/pipe cutting, grinding, and fabrication.
• Knowledge in DC, GTAW welding techniques, and engineering requirements.
• Knowledge in occupational hazards and effective safety precautions.
• Knowledge in arc air procedures and equipment.
• Experience in overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities in a high-paced environment.

Additional Information

• Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral.
• Available to work all required shift hours and overtime as needed.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and perform various physical tasks.
• Able to work outdoors in high heat and humidity.
• Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
