Job Description

Overview

The Welder position involves laying out, aligning, and fitting components together, as well as performing various welding tasks on ferrous and nonferrous metals. The role requires a solid understanding of geometry and structural design, along with the ability to read fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, position, align and fit components together using applicable machines, tools and equipment.
  • Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for final welding.
  • Set up and weld parts using welding equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of geometry, arithmetic, structural design, heat effects and allowances for thickness of metal.
  • Use hand tools and correctly set up and operate applicable shop machines.
  • Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing on various metals.
  • Maintain production documentation per required procedure.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must possess high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ welding experience required.
  • Ability to weld SMAW (Carbon and Stainless), SAW, and GTAW.
