Overview
The Welder position involves laying out, aligning, and fitting components together, as well as performing various welding tasks on ferrous and nonferrous metals. The role requires a solid understanding of geometry and structural design, along with the ability to read fabrication drawings.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, position, align and fit components together using applicable machines, tools and equipment.
- Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for final welding.
- Set up and weld parts using welding equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of geometry, arithmetic, structural design, heat effects and allowances for thickness of metal.
- Use hand tools and correctly set up and operate applicable shop machines.
- Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing on various metals.
- Maintain production documentation per required procedure.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Must possess high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings required.
- Minimum 3 years’ welding experience required.
- Ability to weld SMAW (Carbon and Stainless), SAW, and GTAW.
