Overview
Panelmatic, Inc. is a company founded in 1957 that specializes in the design and fabrication of custom electrical control panels for various industries. They are seeking a skilled Fabrication Welder to produce sheet metal parts and perform welding operations as part of a team or individually.
Responsibilities
- Consults blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to construct specified structures.
- Selects appropriate material for each job based on strength requirements.
- MIG welds mild and stainless steel.
- Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
- Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications.
- Hammers, chips, and grinds workpieces to meet specifications.
- Verifies conformance of workpieces using measuring tools.
- Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using screws.
- Performs assembly tasks such as punching holes for screws.
- Sets up and operates fabricating machines.
- Coordinates equipment shutdowns and startups with other departments.
- Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs.
- Maintains a clean and orderly workspace.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Notifies the lead person or Inspector when the product is ready for inspection.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area and returns tools to their proper locations.
Requirements
- Two plus years of experience welding in a manufacturing or industrial setting required.
- Two plus years of experience in forklift operating required.
- Two plus years of experience in the use of basic tools required.
- Two plus years of experience with fabricating machines and tools required.
- Two plus years of experience in applicable Quality Assurance Procedures required.
- High levels of organizational and time management skills required.
- High levels of analytical, observational, and active listening skills required.
- High levels of reliability required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.
- US work authorization without sponsorship required.
- Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required.
- Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required.
- Ability to stoop and bend required.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four plus hours at a time required.
- Ability to read a tape measure and prints required.
- Ability to convert decimals to fractions and utilize conversion charts required.
- Excellent manual dexterity required.
- Excellent color vision and eyesight required.
