Overview
Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Welder II in National City, CA. This position involves welding metal components together to design specifications or repair products using various welding techniques and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provides welding support certified in TIG, MIG, and GMAW-P using 5356 filler wire.
- Uses hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components.
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to metals.
- Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds or bolts component parts for welding.
- Detects faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notifies supervisors.
- Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using various welding processes.
- Ensures shop safety and housekeeping are followed.
- Ensures all materials and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Reports the status and progress of work to the government supervisor.
- Alerts the government supervisor of causes of work delays.
- Monitors fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating or distortion.
- Examines work pieces for defects and measures them for conformance with specifications.
- Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
- Performs welding methods using a mirror.
- Performs work outside of trade if necessary.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years work related experience.
- Minimum 3 years specific experience as a qualified production welder.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations.
- Ability to communicate verbally and electronically.
- Ability to read schematics and follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to see details at close range.
- Ability to concentrate on a task over time without distraction.
- Ability to qualify to approved welding and brazing procedures.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of Qualify Craftsman 301 for civilians.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and maintenance.
- Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production.
