Overview

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Welder II in National City, CA. This position involves welding metal components together to design specifications or repair products using various welding techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides welding support certified in TIG, MIG, and GMAW-P using 5356 filler wire.
  • Uses hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components.
  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to metals.
  • Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds or bolts component parts for welding.
  • Detects faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notifies supervisors.
  • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using various welding processes.
  • Ensures shop safety and housekeeping are followed.
  • Ensures all materials and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Reports the status and progress of work to the government supervisor.
  • Alerts the government supervisor of causes of work delays.
  • Monitors fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating or distortion.
  • Examines work pieces for defects and measures them for conformance with specifications.
  • Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
  • Performs welding methods using a mirror.
  • Performs work outside of trade if necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years work related experience.
  • Minimum 3 years specific experience as a qualified production welder.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and electronically.
  • Ability to read schematics and follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to see details at close range.
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over time without distraction.
  • Ability to qualify to approved welding and brazing procedures.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Qualify Craftsman 301 for civilians.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production.
