Overview

The Fabrication Associate I – Welder position involves forming, cutting, welding, and painting fabricated materials for final products. Schneider Electric emphasizes the importance of employee value and inclusivity in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for own product quality, proper measuring techniques, and tool use and care.
  • Evaluates and performs basic troubleshooting, obtaining support from supervision and engineering as needed.
  • May provide input to supervision, engineering, and quality groups for product improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Performs moderately complex welding operations using various welding equipment.
  • Moves parts in and out of the welding area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess a welding certificate from an outside entity.
  • Must have actively welded in the last year.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Painting, Welding, or Fabrication.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good understanding of basic shop math and measuring techniques.
  • Expertise with basic hand tools, air tools, gauges, and torque wrenches.
  • Must have excellent natural or corrected vision.
