Overview
The Fabrication Associate I – Welder position involves forming, cutting, welding, and painting fabricated materials for final products. Schneider Electric emphasizes the importance of employee value and inclusivity in the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for own product quality, proper measuring techniques, and tool use and care.
- Evaluates and performs basic troubleshooting, obtaining support from supervision and engineering as needed.
- May provide input to supervision, engineering, and quality groups for product improvement.
- Establishes and maintains a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements.
- Performs moderately complex welding operations using various welding equipment.
- Moves parts in and out of the welding area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must possess a welding certificate from an outside entity.
- Must have actively welded in the last year.
- 1-2 years’ experience in Painting, Welding, or Fabrication.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good understanding of basic shop math and measuring techniques.
- Expertise with basic hand tools, air tools, gauges, and torque wrenches.
- Must have excellent natural or corrected vision.
