Job Description

Overview

Ace Electric is seeking a Welder to join their team, which has been providing quality electrical installations since 1975. The Welder will be responsible for following engineering plans and producing quality welded materials while working in various settings, including the Engineering and Fabrication Shop and construction job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Use gas metal arc welding (GMAW) to manufacture items and components.
  • Cut materials into the required shapes, checking dimensions and thicknesses.
  • Weld or join metal and other materials into a wide range of structures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Maintain excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Understand safety procedures and regulations related to welding operations.
  • Use metal shear and break tables to perform work.
  • Utilize computer programs to design structures.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute welding projects efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to Welder/Fabricator I and II.
  • Coordinate with project managers to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Operate tools, machinery, and welding equipment.
  • Inspect and test welds with precision measuring instruments.
  • Dismantle metal structures.
  • Wear safety clothing and use protective equipment.
  • Work in a shop setting or job site.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 2 years’ experience welding, with experience in CNC plasma table and waterjet table preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to mentor and share knowledge with others.
  • Ability to focus on details while maintaining a large picture perspective.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to develop and follow construction schedules.
  • Proven experience as a welder with expertise in various welding techniques.

Additional Information

  • Works in a warehouse setting with varying degrees of stress and time pressure.
  • Able to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required.
  • Travel may be required to job sites.
