Job Description

Overview

The Welder / Grinder position based in Houston, TX involves the hard metal application of stabilizer blades, while adhering to safety and quality policies set by Drilling Tools International, Inc.

Responsibilities

  • Welding using MIG, TIG, Stick, and Buildup methods.
  • Grinding using NC, manual machine, and hand grinding techniques.
  • Operating Clipper Lathe.
  • Processing repair items according to DTI Repair Ticket requirements.
  • Utilizing proper ring gauge sizes and performing ring gauge inspections.
  • Applying multiple hard facing applications including Wirefed and Hand Applied.
  • Repairing indications using TIG welding.
  • Buffing tools and performing dry powder and LPI inspections.
  • Conducting crane operations.
  • Pulling proper tools for jobs.
  • Maintaining general clean up and organization of the welder’s work area.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma preferred.
  • 3-5 years of hard metal application experience preferred.
  • Previous shop technician, grinder, and Welder I experience is helpful.
  • Ability to communicate on technical issues.
  • Ability to record tool specifications for quality and performance purposes.
  • Must be able to read and interpret charts, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and follow work instructions.
