Overview

InPower is a newly-separated division of an electrical industry-focused holding company, historically part of All Current, which has provided solutions for electrical distributors since 1981. They are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabrication Welder to join their manufacturing team, responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding sheet metal components while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and spot-welding machines.
  • Fabricate, fit, and assemble sheet metal parts and subassemblies.
  • Perform welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and other sheet metal materials.
  • Grind, clean, and finish welded assemblies to meet quality standards.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance using measuring tools and gauges.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as shears, saws, and grinders.
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Maintain welding equipment and report maintenance needs.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with sheet metal fabrication and assembly.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and spot welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of measuring and inspection techniques.
  • Experience with grinding and finishing.
  • Basic math and geometry skills.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
