Job Description

Overview

SEC Energy is a provider of natural gas compression equipment, parts, and services to the oil & gas industry, capable of designing and fabricating equipment to meet specific customer requirements. The company also offers production, processing, and treating equipment along with a network of warehouses across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Reads shop notes, general arrangement and process flow diagrams and drawings.
  • Reads measuring devices such as tape measures, rulers and pressure gauges.
  • Assembles and installs skid mounted components such as pumps, vessels, pipe, pipe supports, structural supports, belts, pulleys and machine guards.
  • Performs pneumatic and mechanical tests on assembled components.
  • Disassembles components to replace defective parts or to prepare them for shipping.
  • Operates a variety of portable hand, electric and air powered tools such as impact wrenches, torque wrenches, combination wrenches, sockets, ratchets, band saw and grinders.
  • Operates stationary tools such as bench grinder, iron worker, drill press and chop saw.
  • Operates lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and jib cranes.
  • Records serial numbers and other information as required in ITP (inspection test plan).
  • Reports problems to line supervisor and actively participates in resolution.
  • Performs job duties in a safe manner and according to company safety procedures.
  • Reports potentially unsafe equipment and safety hazards to supervisor for immediate resolution.
  • Understands and follows oral and written instructions.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all departments and workers.
  • Actively participates in the development of Assembler I and other employees.
  • Performs the above and other duties as required with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • High school education (GED).
  • Level C requires a minimum of 0 – 2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Level B requires a minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Level A/Lead requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read tape measures and rulers in increments of 1/16”.
  • Basic mathematic ability to add and subtract fractions, decimals and whole numbers.
  • Must have basic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the assembly department.

Additional Information

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Walking and standing frequently.
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting.
  • Works in industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
