Overview
The Industrial Equipment Assembler (Pumps/Large Parts) position involves building waterblasting units and ensuring quality through inspections and documentation. The role is with Jetstream of Houston, a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation, which is recognized for its commitment to employee satisfaction and quality manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Build a defect-free waterblasting unit and/or sub-assembly.
- Complete required in-process inspection and repair any defects found.
- Complete final inspection documentation and test equipment for quality.
- Follow engineering procedures for assembly.
- Document quality information to support the quality process.
- Ensure defects are documented and corrected before delivery.
- Build quality into all products without exception.
- Meet daily/weekly production schedules.
- Assemble components according to checklists, BOM, and drawings.
- Check stock bins for adequate supplies for scheduled builds.
- Build units to BOM specifications and document necessary paperwork.
- Report non-conforming parts, materials, or drawings to the manager.
- Resolve assembly problems and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Report other problems to the manager for assistance.
- Cross-train team members in assembly operations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and comprehend schematic engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of hand tools.
- Willingness to learn and master new assembly skills.
- Ability to accept and receive supervision and assistance.
- Awareness of safety issues and alertness to avoid mishaps.
- Must wear protective gear when necessary.
