Overview
Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to various industrial sectors in the U.S. The Instrument Fitter Helper role involves installing and removing instrumentation devices to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, and temperature.
Responsibilities
- Read and work from related blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Install and/or remove various instrumentation devices.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, electronics, and electricity.
- Cut, bend, and install pipe tubing or conduit for air or process lines for instrument controls.
- Install instruments, instrument stands, and control wiring to valves.
- Verify operation by stroking valves.
- Install and calibrate recorders, alarms, switches, and other devices.
- May steam trace lines when necessary.
- May install flanges and orifice plates.
- May repair steam traps.
- Perform other duties necessary to remove, install, or troubleshoot instrumentation devices.
- Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet state regulations.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience.
