Overview

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a Highway Mechanic Supervisor or Heavy Equipment Mechanic Leadworker.
• Construct, inspect, diagnose, repair, and service various equipment used in the Department's fleet.
• Complete various records and reports.
• Use computer equipment for various tasks.
• Assist in instructing or giving direction to helpers, apprentices, or other employees.
• Assume responsibility for the proper use and handling of materials and tools.
• Work in inclement weather conditions as necessary.
• Assist with the daily operation of the shop.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid class C driver license.
