Overview

Carlton Forge Works is the premier producer of seamless rolled rings and forgings for various industries. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring all plant equipment operates safely and efficiently while performing preventive maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements
• Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and report safety concerns to a supervisor
• Promote good safety practices, including the use of PPE
• Maintain a safe and organized workstation and follow company policies
• Maintain accurate daily work logs and equipment maintenance records
• Inspect production equipment for defects and determine repair methods
• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
• Use measuring devices to ensure smooth assembly of equipment
• Interpret drawings and sketches and decide on tools and materials required
• Perform preventative and all other maintenance duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required, Technical certification preferred
• Basic math skills and weight calculations
• Ability to obtain and maintain valid forklift certification
• Proven engagement in safety requirements
• Ability to work in a non-temperature controlled environment
• Basic skills in reading and understanding manufacturing documents in English
• Ability to follow standard machine operating procedures
• Ability to measure parts using standard measuring devices
• Ability to record and enter operations data as required
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and take initiative
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability and knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs
