Overview
The Plumber is responsible for executing daily operations, maintenance, installation, and annual projects for the Utilities Plumbing Department at amusement and water parks. This role involves maintaining plumbing systems, boilers, and related equipment to support a large amusement facility.
Responsibilities
- Audibly inspect plumbing devices to detect gas flow, water flow, and any abnormalities.
- Service stand-by parts and equipment for use when needed.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on plumbing fixtures and systems.
- Dismantle devices to access and repair defective parts.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, supports, and hangers.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on water rides and plumbing equipment.
- Test and observe pressure gauges for leaks and repair as needed.
- Read blueprints and drawings to determine specifications for plumbing systems.
- Assemble pipe sections and fittings using various tools and materials.
- Locate and repair issues with water supply lines and unclog drains safely.
- Ensure all installations and repairs meet health, building, and safety standards.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent; related degree or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in commercial plumbing and boiler systems.
- Familiarity with the National Uniform Plumbing Code.
- Ability to use small tools such as pipe threaders and soldering torches.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to pass a mandatory drug test as per company policy.
- Ability to pass a background check if 18 years or older.
- Must have and maintain a current driver's license.
- Prefer D1 distribution certification.
