Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical TechOps role at Delta, responsible for maintaining the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet to ensure customers have an exceptional travel experience. AMTs perform inspections, document maintenance procedures, and practice safety in all operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures.
  • Inspects aircraft or aircraft components for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear to ensure airworthiness.
  • Recommends replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection.
  • Reports issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel.
  • Installs, removes, or modifies aircraft structures, systems, or components following technical publications.
  • Repairs worn, defective, or damaged parts or components using hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Inspects completed work to certify that maintenance adheres to standards and procedures.
  • Interprets discrepancies or logs to troubleshoot issues and identify required next steps.
  • Researches, reads, and interprets technical manuals and guidelines for inspections and repairs.
  • Reviews maintenance records to ensure service and maintenance checks are performed at prescribed intervals.
  • Maintains repair logs documenting all preventative and corrective aircraft maintenance activities.
  • Serves as a technical expert or mentor by providing advice and corrective recommendations.
  • Uses computers and technology to enter, document, access, receive, or communicate information.

Requirements

  • Must have an FAA Airframe and Power Plant license.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in the present position if transferring internally.
  • Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
