Overview

The Airport Mechanic - Class A position at JFK involves maintaining, inspecting, and repairing various vehicle systems and components. This full-time, non-exempt role requires mechanics to work in diverse conditions and perform physical tasks related to vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, test, diagnose, overhaul, rebuild and repair all vehicle systems, components and accessories.
• Operate vehicles including trucks and buses of various sizes and configurations.
• Maintain and repair equipment and tools used in vehicle maintenance.
• Drive motor vehicles and keep written and electronic records of work activities.
• Perform related work as required.

Requirements

• Mechanic – Class A, B and C levels.
• CDL License preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physical capability to crawl under and on top of buses and lift heavy parts.
• Ability to distinguish colors and read gauges and prints.
