Hornblower Group is a global leader in experience and transportation, with a portfolio that includes water- and land-based experiences and ferry services. The Mechanic Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and appearance of the Statue Cruises vessels.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair tasks for all vessel systems.
• Conduct maintenance tasks including engine overhauls and electrical troubleshooting.
• Utilize power tools to accomplish designated tasks.
• Check, test, and maintain automatic controls and alarm systems.
• Assist with fueling, filling water, pumping sewage, and connecting/disconnecting shore power.
• Accept tasks and work orders from the duty Port Engineer.
• Ensure vessels exceed minimum standards for USCG and safety regulations.
• Maintain vessel systems in an inspection-ready condition.
• Conduct environmental, operational, and performance tests on marine machinery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience of vessel engineering and maintenance.
• Must have a basic set of hand tools.
• Must know how to safely and properly use hand and power tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency response.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
