Overview
At Vestis®, the Fleet Mechanic performs preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles to ensure compliance with standards, while supporting the company’s mission to simplify workdays for businesses. Vestis® is a partner in productivity, providing uniforms and workplace supplies to a wide range of customers across North America.
Responsibilities
- Maintain fleet vehicles with a focus on Preventative Maintenance programs to meet 100% compliance of standards.
- Utilize the AVMS fleet management computer system to track shop operation duties.
- Assist with cost control through purchasing and inventory management.
- Ensure maintenance of shop quality requirements, cleanliness, and OSHA standards.
- Regularly inspect vehicles for compliance with Vestis and DOT standards.
- Conduct regular vehicle maintenance on company vehicles.
- Repair and maintain medium gas and diesel engines, brake systems, electrical systems, suspension systems, and lift gates.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and document repairs according to company guidelines.
- Assist in more extensive repairs based on experience.
- Follow all company workplace conduct requirements and policies.
- Perform other duties as required to support the business.
Requirements
- Two years or more of experience in fleet vehicle mechanical repairs.
- High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree in Automotive Technology preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License (Not CDL) with minimal points/violations in the last three years.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and applicable state vehicle laws.
- Proficient in preventive maintenance control systems and parts procurement.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Schedule flexibility to include days, evenings, and/or weekends.
