Overview
The position of Deburrer on the 2nd shift involves operating and adjusting manual or numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard operations under general supervision. The role requires a minimum of four years of experience as a general machine shop operator, and candidates must meet US persons criteria.
Responsibilities
- Set up manual machines with prescribed speeds, feeds, and tooling sequences.
- Operate numerically controlled machines with approved programs and setups maintained by others.
- Remove burrs and rough edges from machine components using hand operations like filing and polishing.
- Use a microscope or magnifier to remove scratches, burrs, and tool marks from parts.
- Utilize standard shop measuring devices.
- Sharpen drill tools on a grinding wheel as necessary.
- Operate automatic welding equipment.
- Move parts and materials to and from the work area.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervision.
Requirements
- Minimum of four years' experience as a general machine shop operator.
- Demonstrated acceptable performance on both required machine and manual operations.
- Must meet US persons criteria.
