Overview
As a Body Shop Technician, you will restore class 8 diesel equipment to its original condition after damage, expertly repairing or replacing body components while adhering to factory and dealership specifications.
Responsibilities
- Review repair orders and estimator’s notes to understand needed repairs.
- Complete all repairs according to the documentation on the repair order.
- Utilize knowledge of manufacturers and technical repair processes.
- Use frame and measuring equipment per vendor specifications.
- Perform initial teardown of Class 8 diesel equipment.
- Identify parts for cut-in and edging.
- Perform all repair procedures according to factory specifications and company policy.
- Perform and sign-off on all quality checks before sending equipment to paint department.
- Re-assemble painted Class 8 diesel equipment and parts.
- Conduct a final quality check and review of work order before sending equipment to detail department.
- Work with apprentices or lesser skilled technicians to develop repair skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Three years’ body shop experience.
- ICAR Welding Certificate.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability.
