Job Description

Overview

As a Body Shop Technician, you will restore class 8 diesel equipment to its original condition after damage, expertly repairing or replacing body components while adhering to factory and dealership specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Review repair orders and estimator’s notes to understand needed repairs.
  • Complete all repairs according to the documentation on the repair order.
  • Utilize knowledge of manufacturers and technical repair processes.
  • Use frame and measuring equipment per vendor specifications.
  • Perform initial teardown of Class 8 diesel equipment.
  • Identify parts for cut-in and edging.
  • Perform all repair procedures according to factory specifications and company policy.
  • Perform and sign-off on all quality checks before sending equipment to paint department.
  • Re-assemble painted Class 8 diesel equipment and parts.
  • Conduct a final quality check and review of work order before sending equipment to detail department.
  • Work with apprentices or lesser skilled technicians to develop repair skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three years’ body shop experience.
  • ICAR Welding Certificate.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability.
