Overview

PENN FS is a growing provider of landscape, facility, and winter management services with over a decade of experience in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing company vehicles and heavy equipment used in operations, ensuring safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and conduct routine and preventive maintenance on company vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Complete repairs on trucks, trailers, and specialty equipment.
  • Document all work in accordance with company procedures.
  • Inspect equipment for safety and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to schedule service.
  • Ensure minimal downtime for field crews.
  • Help maintain an organized shop environment.
  • Manage parts and supplies.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Strong maintenance and repair skills for fleet vehicles and service equipment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, including inspections, servicing, and scheduled repairs.
  • Hands-on experience working with heavy equipment such as loaders, plow trucks, and mowers.
  • Proficient troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of standard tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques used in fleet maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and work orders.
  • Commitment to safety practices and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive or diesel technology is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a fleet, diesel, or equipment mechanic in a commercial or industrial setting is beneficial.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet company driving requirements; CDL is a plus.
  • Capability to lift moderate loads, work in varying weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliable work habits, and the ability to collaborate with operations and field teams.

Additional Information

  • Full-time, on-site role based in Norristown, PA.
  • Hours are from 11-7pm or 12-8pm.
