Overview
PENN FS is a growing provider of landscape, facility, and winter management services with over a decade of experience in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing company vehicles and heavy equipment used in operations, ensuring safety and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and conduct routine and preventive maintenance on company vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Complete repairs on trucks, trailers, and specialty equipment.
- Document all work in accordance with company procedures.
- Inspect equipment for safety and reliability.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Coordinate with operations teams to schedule service.
- Ensure minimal downtime for field crews.
- Help maintain an organized shop environment.
- Manage parts and supplies.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
- Strong maintenance and repair skills for fleet vehicles and service equipment.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, including inspections, servicing, and scheduled repairs.
- Hands-on experience working with heavy equipment such as loaders, plow trucks, and mowers.
- Proficient troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
- Knowledge of standard tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques used in fleet maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Commitment to safety practices and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive or diesel technology is preferred.
- Prior experience as a fleet, diesel, or equipment mechanic in a commercial or industrial setting is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet company driving requirements; CDL is a plus.
- Capability to lift moderate loads, work in varying weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail, reliable work habits, and the ability to collaborate with operations and field teams.
Additional Information
- Full-time, on-site role based in Norristown, PA.
- Hours are from 11-7pm or 12-8pm.
