Job Description

Overview

We are currently hiring experienced Aluminum MIG and TIG Welders to fabricate and assemble aluminum boat structures and components. This role requires precision, skill, and a strong understanding of welding techniques specific to aluminum.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum components, including pontoons, hull, and deck structures.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Inspect welded joints and structural components for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, including MIG and TIG welders, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
  • Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and fitting components.
  • Collaborate with the production team, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to specifications.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot welding issues, making necessary adjustments to achieve optimal results.
  • Leverage MES to maintain accurate production records and material usage.
  • Assist in other fabrication tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an aluminum MIG/TIG welder, preferably in a boat manufacturing or marine environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Strong knowledge of various welding techniques, processes, and equipment for aluminum.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform structural and cosmetic welds on aluminum.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good manual dexterity and physical stamina.
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and take direction.
