Overview
We are currently hiring experienced Aluminum MIG and TIG Welders to fabricate and assemble aluminum boat structures and components. This role requires precision, skill, and a strong understanding of welding techniques specific to aluminum.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum components, including pontoons, hull, and deck structures.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Inspect welded joints and structural components for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment, including MIG and TIG welders, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
- Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and fitting components.
- Collaborate with the production team, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to specifications.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Identify and troubleshoot welding issues, making necessary adjustments to achieve optimal results.
- Leverage MES to maintain accurate production records and material usage.
- Assist in other fabrication tasks as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven experience as an aluminum MIG/TIG welder, preferably in a boat manufacturing or marine environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Strong knowledge of various welding techniques, processes, and equipment for aluminum.
- Demonstrated ability to perform structural and cosmetic welds on aluminum.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and take direction.
