Overview
A Welder is responsible for joining metal parts using welding techniques and equipment, fabricating and maintaining structures, and ensuring adherence to specifications and safety standards. The position requires 3+ years of related experience and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and execute blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to fabricate products.
- Weld components using methods such as MIG, TIG, SMAW, or flux-cored arc welding.
- Operate welding equipment and related tools.
- Inspect and maintain equipment, ensuring safe operations.
- Assess welded joints for precision and adherence to specifications.
- Identify and repair weld defects using grinding and cutting tools.
- Adhere to all workplace safety standards and protocols.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe working environment.
- Identify areas for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Participate in training and certifications to stay updated with industry practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3+ years of experience with Fabrication and Welding Aluminum
- Ability to obtain Secret security clearance
- Training or certification in welding techniques (e.g., AWS certification)
- Familiarity with fabrication tools and machines
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation
- Proficient understanding of metallurgy and materials science
