Overview

Ingalls Shipbuilding is seeking skilled Pipe Welders to join their elite team responsible for welding critical piping systems for advanced naval vessels. With over 11,000 employees, Ingalls is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and has a long history of supporting the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-precision pipe welding on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG).
  • Weld using additional processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW).
  • Work from drawings, specifications, and welding procedures to ensure structural integrity and system reliability.
  • Support ship construction in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Maintain safety standards that meet — and often exceed — industry requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of pipe welding experience.
  • Proven, hands-on pipe welding experience with TIG/GTAW as a primary process.
  • Ability to weld Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel to exact specifications.
  • Skill in SMAW and FCAW processes.
  • Ability to work safely in complex shipyard environments.
  • Strong commitment to quality, precision, and craftsmanship.
  • Mississippi Tech Master Certification (nice to have).
