Overview
We’re looking for a dependable Fabricator to support equipment maintenance, fabrication, and repair operations through high-quality welding and metalworking skills. This role is responsible for building, repairing, and modifying equipment and tooling while maintaining a strong focus on safety, precision, and operational efficiency in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding repairs and fabrication work on industrial equipment, tooling, and components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to complete fabrication projects accurately.
- Operate MIG welders for aluminum and stainless steel applications.
- Operate TIG welders, AC/DC stick welders, plasma cutters, and oxyacetylene cutting and welding equipment.
- Fabricate new tooling, equipment, and structural components based on operational needs.
- Assist in the design and modification of equipment and repair solutions.
- Determine appropriate materials and welding methods required for specific repairs and fabrication projects.
- Inspect equipment and work areas to identify safe welding conditions prior to beginning work.
- Complete repairs in the most effective and efficient manner while maintaining quality standards.
- Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and properly at all times.
- Follow company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and required PPE guidelines.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas within the shop and field environments.
- Support maintenance operations during equipment breakdowns and urgent repair situations.
- Provide guidance and operating instruction to less experienced employees when needed.
- Travel to field job sites to perform welding and fabrication work as required.
- Work extended shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational demands.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational or industrial trade specialization preferred.
- 5–7 years of welding and fabrication experience in an industrial, maintenance, or heavy equipment environment.
- Technical school training or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and fabrication drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to safely lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks during 8–12 hour shifts.
- Ability to work around welding heat, sparks, fumes, industrial noise, and varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to wear required PPE including welding shields, respirators, gloves, hearing protection, and protective clothing.
- Ability to travel between shop and field job sites and work flexible schedules based on operational needs.
