Overview

A. O. Smith Corporation is a global leader in innovative technologies and energy-efficient solutions for water heating equipment and boilers. The Assembly Tech III position involves preparing and assembling pressure vessels in a climate-controlled facility in Lebanon, TN.

Responsibilities

• Prepares pressure vessel materials for assembly through set-up and operation of fabrication and hydro testing.
• Assembles and completes storage vessels.
• Prepares completed pressure vessels for hydro-testing and operates hydro testing equipment.
• Checks sand blasted units for completeness.
• Operates a variety of saws and cutting equipment to cut structural steel to specifications.
• Assembles and attaches elements, gauges, pipes, tube bundles, and wiring according to blueprints.
• Cuts probe holes for wiring and performs routing of electrical wiring of control panels.
• Runs and operates a PLC furnace control based on vessel type.

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience required.
• Basic computer knowledge and navigation is required.
• Must be able to acquire Jaws of Life, Confined Space, and Forklift certifications once hired.
• High School Diploma or GED.
