Overview

Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Boilermaker role involves constructing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries.

Responsibilities

  • Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to locate defects for repair.
  • Bolt or arc weld pressure vessel structures and parts together.
  • Inspect assembled vessels or components to locate defects.
  • Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts using various tools.
  • Attach rigging and signal crane or hoist operators for heavy lifting.
  • Bell, bead with power hammers, or weld pressure vessel tube ends.
  • Lay out plate, sheet steel, or heavy metal and mark cutting lines.
  • Install manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, or connections.
  • Study blueprints to determine locations and dimensions of parts.
  • Straighten or reshape bent pressure vessel plates or parts.
  • Shape seams, joints, or edges of pressure vessel sections.
  • Position, align, and secure structural parts to boiler frames.
  • Locate and mark reference points for columns or plates on foundations.
  • Shape or fabricate parts to adapt pressure vessels or piping.
  • Clean pressure vessel equipment using scrapers and solvents.
  • Install refractory bricks or heat-resistant materials in fireboxes.
  • Assemble large vessels in an on-site fabrication shop.

Requirements

  • No minimum education requirement.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial planning and scheduling.
  • Certifications: NCCER, a Valid TWIC Card, and Driver’s License.
