Overview
Oxford Instruments is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to provide technical support, installation, and maintenance for plasma etch and deposition systems. This remote position requires extensive travel across North America, particularly in the New York/New Jersey area, to ensure customer satisfaction and support cutting-edge semiconductor technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the installation and commissioning of advanced plasma etch and deposition systems.
- Execute scheduled and emergency maintenance with precision.
- Build trust and long-term relationships through responsive communication and hands-on training.
- Resolve complex hardware and software issues using specialized tools.
- Calibrate critical components and implement performance-enhancing upgrades.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of field service experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Hands-on experience with vacuum technologies and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Proficient with diagnostic instruments such as vacuum leak detectors and RF power meters.
- Strong understanding of RF theory and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) systems.
