The Quality Control Non-Destructive Examination Inspector Level C is responsible for performing product assessments and inspections on various components to ensure compliance with established standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in safety training and ensures personal safety as well as safety of co-workers.
  • Performs duties as assigned by Supervisor and Leadman.
  • Inspects steam and stationary components within the factory and on site.
  • Inspects generator rotors and components within the factory and on site.
  • Participates in workforce development to enhance skills and abilities.
  • Conducts hardness testing.
  • Performs visual inspections.
  • Takes dimensional measurements.
  • Makes visual assessments.
  • Uses quality inspection measuring tools identified on skills matrix.
  • Follows necessary steps per Standard and I&T Plans.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with others.
  • Tracks Standard and I&T Plans and supporting QC records.
  • Releases product for shipping.
  • Inspects received parts in shipping and receiving.
  • Sets up and operates hardness testing for Equotip.
  • Sets up and operates Faro Arm and bore scope.
  • Documents I&T Plans and tracks to completion.
  • Demonstrates high-quality communication and work skills.
  • Performs other functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of technical experience with a variety of power generating equipment (steam and/or gas turbines).
  • Previous quality control and/or nondestructive inspection experience is desirable.
  • Significant experience working with a variety of machines and components.
  • Strong math skills and ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to use hand and automated measuring tools of various sizes and complexities.
  • Ability to work independently and with others under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to document and follow proper procedures and train others.

Additional Information

  • Full-time onsite position at Chamblee, GA facility.
  • 1st shift work schedule of Monday-Friday 6:00AM – 2:30PM ET during training.
  • 2nd shift work schedule of Monday-Friday 4:10PM – 1:00AM ET after training.
  • Overtime is available but not mandatory.
