Overview

The Boring Company is focused on solving traffic issues by developing an underground network of tunnels and innovative tunneling technologies. The Welder role involves supporting the fabrication, assembly, repair, and modification of tunnel boring machines and large-scale structures, requiring high-quality welding skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welding assembly and fabrication on large-scale structures and assemblies
• Effective communication with management/supervisors and engineering staff
• Modification, repair, assembly, and installation of the tunnel boring machine
• Checking work after completion of each operation to ensure it meets drawing specifications
• Driving general shop equipment (forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, etc.)
• Setting up welding equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications (weld symbols)
• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts
• Ability to weld in all positions and pass weld test (FCAW)

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
