Overview
The Submarine Products Welder & Fabricator position involves setting up and operating various fabrication and welding equipment to manufacture and repair parts, ensuring adherence to visual and workmanship standards. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a wide range of fabrication and welding equipment.
- Perform complex setups and hold close tolerances in the fabrication and weld manufacturing cycle.
- Meet all visual and workmanship requirements of applicable weld and fabrication specifications.
- Provide guidance and direction to other weld personnel.
- Suggest and work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop efficient manufacturing methods.
- Perform fitting and fabrication functions as assigned.
- Understand and execute responsibilities using a computerized time and attendance system.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of welding experience.
- Ability to read specifications.
- Capable of setting up and operating various fabrication and welding equipment.
- Must make complex setups and hold close tolerances in fabrication and weld manufacturing.
- Knowledge of welding processes including GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and SAW.
- Ability to weld in all positions and with various materials.
- Pass a written exam covering Workmanship Specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Knowledge of algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric functions for blueprint dimensions.
