Overview
The Welder position involves performing various types of welding on metals while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The role requires reading blueprints and using various tools, with a focus on detail and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams.
- Perform MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-cored welding on various metals.
- Ensure work is done safely, efficiently, and meets quality standards.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as plasma cutters, grinders, and hand tools.
- Follow established safety procedures and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Clean and maintain work area and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Welder.
- Welding certification (such as AWS or ASME) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical condition and endurance.
- Must pass a welding test.
Additional Information
- This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions.
- Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
- This position may include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards.
- The ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- The ability to stand for long periods of time.
