Overview

As a Trades Specialist (Plumber & Steamfitter) at the Rochester Psychiatric Center, you will perform journey level plumbing and steamfitting work while supervising others in the installation, alteration, and repair of various systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey level plumbing and steamfitting work.
• Supervise others in the installation, alteration, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with specifications and plumbing codes.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in plumbing.
• Knowledge of applicable standards and plumbing and electrical code regulations.
• Understanding of the rules and regulations governing the activities of State wards.
• Ability to use tools, machines, equipment, and materials of the plumbing craft.
• Ability to train and supervise others.
• Ability to plan, lay out work, and diagnose problems.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams, architectural blueprints, and specifications.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Successful completion of a NYS two-year Trades Specialist (Plumber & Steamfitter) program or equivalent.
