Overview

The Instrument Fitter is responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, ensuring work meets customer specifications in a neat, timely, and accurate manner. Responsibilities

• Read and interpret P&ID, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams to perform installation.
• Lay out, measure and bend tubing based on the specifications of the drawing to fit the design packages ensuring a safe and functional system.
• Understand customer’s requirements quickly and present solutions that meet their needs.
• Measure, cut, assemble tubing tray and support systems.
• Install tubing and clamps into tubing tray systems.
• Measure, cut, ream, bend, assemble and install single line and groups of tubing.
• Proficiently use tools of the trade.
• Recognize and avoid safety hazards and dangers.
• Perform all functions with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED desired.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
• Ability to lay out, measure and bend tubing based on specifications.
• Must understand customer’s requirements quickly and present solutions.
• Knowledge of various pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform all functions with minimal supervision.
