Overview

At Niagara, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through troubleshooting and repair of production and facilities equipment, while working in a dynamic environment that values relationships and career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at the facility.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with Niagara’s defined processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Work independently and with team members to complete repairs safely and timely.
  • May fill in for production operator as needed.
  • Create and report repairs throughout the shift and complete required work order paperwork.
  • Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and machine operation.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience in a field or similar maintenance environment.
  • 4 years of experience in the position.
  • 4 years of experience managing people/projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Skilled in the use of shop equipment and precision measuring equipment.
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area.
